<p>Read that again because it’s vital to your success. And it’s the thing that so many people get wrong right out of the gate. And then they wonder why they’re promotions are failing and why their<br />
<h3>MLM business</h3>
<p> is not growing. </p>
<p>Here’s the reason it’s so crucial, and it can be summed up by a question that the late great marketing legend Gary Halbert used to pose to his audiences and seminars and speaking engagements. Here’s a little excerpt from one of his infamous newsletters where he recounts this:</p>
<p>“As you may or may not know, every once in a while I give a class on copywriting and/or selling by mail. During these classes, one of the questions I like to ask my students is: &#8220;If you and I both owned a hamburger stand and we were in a contest to see who could sell the most hamburgers, what advantages would you most like to have on your side to help you win?&#8221;<br />
The answers vary. Some of the students say they would like to have the advantage of having superior meat from which to make their burgers. Others say they want sesame seed buns. Others mention location. Someone usually wants to be able to offer the lowest prices.<br />
And so on.<br />
Whatever. In any case, after my students are finished telling me what advantages they would most like to have, I usually say to them something like this: &#8220;O.K., I&#8217;ll give you every single advantage you have asked for. I, myself, only want one advantage and, if you will give it to me, I will (when it comes to selling burgers) whip the pants off all of you!&#8221;<br />
&#8220;What advantage do you want?&#8221; they ask.<br />
&#8220;The only advantage I want,&#8221; I reply&#8230;<br />
&#8220;Is&#8230;<br />
A Starving Crowd!&#8221;<br />
So with these wise words from Halbert, you can clearly understand where he would have the advantage. But so many people, when crafting their ads don’t think about anything but the message. But they don’t even know who their crafting a message for. And how do you craft a message to nobody?<br />
That would be like writing a very personal letter, but not knowing who you’re writing it to. Would you do that? So then why would you put together a marketing campaign without knowing who you’re marketing it to?<br />
That’s why when crafting a message it’s vital to first find a market and then craft your promotion to aim directly at that market. Once you do that then half the battle is over. Once you’ve found your market, and discovered what they TRULY want, then you can craft the message specifically for them showing them exactly how your<br />
<h3><a href="http://www.gelrevolution.com">MLM business</a></h3>
<p> opportunity and/or products can and will provide them exactly what they’re looking for.<br />
For instance you would talk to women differently than you would talk to men because they’re usually interested in different things, and have different concerns.<br />
Drilling differently you would speak to mothers differently than women who have no children. The same goes with fathers as compared to men with no children. </p>
<p>The fact is once you’ve gotten the audience, your message doesn’t even have to be perfectly written, because you’ve targeted correctly.<br />
Don’t skip figuring out your target market. That one act alone could save and make you tons of money!</p>

<p> is meant to be a “word of mouth” type of business model haven’t you?  You’ve probably heard it more times than you care to admit in fact.  Maybe you’ve even said it when trying to get someone to join up with you.</p>
<p>You know the drill. You’ll talk to your friends; they’ll talk to their friends, and so on and so forth. It’s spread like mad across the universe all from word of mouth…sort of like a virus.</p>
<p>Alright, enough being funny. Actually the funny part is that it’s how the business is run, or should be run. And with social media for<br />
<h2>network marketing</h2>
<p> it’s easier now than ever before to make this happen. </p>
<p>It’s certainly one of the greatest ways ever available to spread the message regarding your opportunity around. It truly is word of mouth, only through cyberspace. And it can travel amazingly fast. </p>
<p>One of my favorite new commercials is the one with the little girl who loses her dog. A teenager sees her hanging a sign about the dog, and decides to shoot out a text and photo of the dog through his cell phone to all his friends. </p>
<p>Well by the time the little girl gets done hanging up her signs and walking home, the dog is waiting there on her porch with the teenager.  Of course this is a commercial for cell phones, but it just shows how fast a message can spread through social media. For <b>network marketing</b> it works incredibly well, but only if done right.</p>
<p>Social media is now the voice on the mountain top. If Paul Revere had social media he would have saved a ton of work and running around I suppose. </p>
<p>Sites such as Facebook and Twitter are always buzzing with real time messages being spread like wild fire. Even Myspace, which isn’t the powerhouse that it once was, can still be put to great use using social media for<br />
<h3>network marketing,</h3>
<p> or any other <i>network marketing</i> in fact. </p>
<p>There are many others. Actually thousands if you take the time to find the ones that work best for you and actually use them to their full capabilities. </p>
<p>Of course we’re all getting a little miffed at all the spammers that social media has brought as well, that’s an important note to bring to your attention.  In fact, I’m fairly sure that this is the reason that Myspace has gone by the wayside, and Facebook has pretty much taken the reigns. But it’s only a matter of time before that gets screwed up too. </p>

<p> then you certainly don’t want to go making people mad at you…or should I say more like disgusted by you. </p>

<p>I guess it’s pretty clear where we get this notion in days where good ole’ Bernie Madoff types are the norm, when politics is nothing more than a bashing festival rather than an intelligent debate about the issues.  (I guess that’s a bit impossible when the candidates don’t even know the issues though)…</p>
<p>We used to be able to look to sports for a positive model on winning over competition…but when sports teams start secretly video taping other teams practices, stealing playbooks, and taking money to throw games rather than actually just work hard to win them, how we can look that way either. </p>
<p>The<br />
<h1>network marketing </h1>
<p>business world is not a place for the faint of heart. It’s tough.  They used to describe business as a “man’s world”, but these days the women can make the men look like sissies.  </p>
<p>So, yes I will concede that sometimes, it is a dog-eat-dog, cut-throat world that we live in.  But the question at hand is; can you win with integrity and stay ethical and in line with your values. </p>
<p>The answer to that is yes, most definitely.  </p>
<p>The truth is that for all of the stories that you see and hear where foul play and underhanded tactics are being used, there are millions more success stories where people actually did get there through ethical means, clever strategy (that didn’t hurt anyone), win-win negotiations, and honest to goodness hard-work.  </p>
<p>Sure, it’s a lot tougher to find these stories, but we all know what kind of news travels the fastest don’t we?  </p>
<p>Let’s take my industry for example. </p>
<p>MLM or<br />
<h2>Network Marketing,</h2>
<p> whatever you prefer to call it has gotten a bad rap over the years.  Why?  Well, because a few unscrupulous companies and a few unethical distributors decided that they wanted to take a business model that is amazing, and try to “game” it in their favor.  </p>
<p>But what about all the millions of other network marketers who play by the rules, who have succeeded profoundly, and take their knowledge and show other people to do the same…and making the world a better place?  Why do you so rarely hear about these people?  </p>
<p>Well again, we know what type of news travels fastest don’t we?<br />
To win over your competition doesn’t mean that you have to leave them bloodied and beaten.  It doesn’t mean that you have to throw your competition under the bus or taint their name just to get ahead.  </p>
<p>All that it takes is to set a high goal that you want to achieve, and instead of stepping on people’s heads all the way up figure out ways where on your way up you’re leaving a trail of ethical behavior that result in people following your lead.  </p>

<p> leader in the field by default, and nobody got hurt…they just learned a valuable lesson to carry on. </p>

<p>But what makes up a system?  Basically a system is simply a group of tools webbed together to create success.</p>

<p> business can survive, never mind thrive, if you don’t have a constant flow of leads coming into your business. Obtaining those leads, unless you’re wasting your money buying them, doesn’t just happen out of thin air. The only true way to create leads that comes in on a regular basis is by creating a system that gets those leads. </p>
<p>To do that you need to utilize certain tools. I’m going to show you those tools that you need right now and exactly how to best utilize them. </p>
<p>1)	Squeeze Page – The squeeze page is the foundation of your lead getting system. It’s where you’ll actually obtain your leads.  Now of course people aren’t just going to leave you their personal information out of the kindness of their hearts.  You’ve got to give them something in exchange for that information. There are tons and tons of things that you can give. </p>
<p>What people want more than anything online is information. They’re trying to figure out how to do something and your best bet for getting them to leave their information with you is to let them know that in exchange for that, you’ll show them how to do that something. Your first goal is simply getting to the heart of that desire [of what they want], and convincing them with benefits how it’ll change their life in the direction their looking to change it. </p>
<p>Obviously if someone is at your site (squeeze page), they’re likely looking for ways to make extra money and enjoy a lifestyle of freedom.  Therefore you must convince them with persuasion that you have that.  This means that you’ll need a riveting headline that catches their attention and makes them stop long enough to read the rest of the page. You then need appealing enough copy that convinces them to leave their info. Not a great copywriter?  No problem because the other tool that you NEED in your toolbox is…</p>
<p>2)	Video Creation Software – One of the best ways to get around the fact that you’re not a great copywriter (yet) is to instead use video on your squeeze page. Your video need not be long, but just needs to be personal and tell the visitor what you have for them in exchange for their information, and why leaving YOU their information in the optin box is a wise choice… and of course that they can unsubscribe at anytime with the click of a button. </p>
<p>But that’s not the only reason to have video creation software. You can also deliver your report through video rather than having to write out a long report for your subscribers, and send videos to your leads over and over again. This creates a huge bond with you and your leads and that creates trust, which will lead to more and more signups into your business. </p>
<p>3)	Auto Responder Service – Alright, so in order to collect emails, and more importantly continue to contact them over and over again, you’re going to need to use an auto-responder service such as Aweber or Get Response. I prefer Aweber personally…</p>
<p>Now your auto-responder service will allow you to create the form in which you’ll collect your leads information, as well will act as your mail merge system…which means that you’ll be able to send your leads emails over and over again. </p>
<p>The great part… and where this actually becomes a system… is that you can set-up messages in your auto-responder in advance, so that each and every time someone leaves their info they’ll get the messages in sequential order. </p>
<p>But that’s not all. Got something that you want to announce to your list today?  Well you can simply send out a broadcast message and have everyone on your list see this at the same time.  This is great for announcing webinars, or TeleSeminars, etc.   </p>
<p>The key then is to simply keep adding new messages to the sequence for as long as possible, even a year.  Then your only job is to simply drive new traffic to your squeeze page, and tweak your email messages one by one so that each one converts better and better, therefore increasing your signup rate and ultimately your profits overtime. </p>
<p>This in itself is the basis of a lead system, and these 3 tools alone will allow you to start seeing huge gains in your business. Once set up, this portion of your business will be run on autopilot, leaving you time to close these leads into your<br />

<p>…one of the greatest aspects of this industry is that it is one of self development. It’s an industry highly imprinted by the principles of success. </p>
<p>You can just look toward the fact that some of the greatest names in the field of success have taken part in this industry. People like Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn, Robert Kiyosaki, and Donald Trump are all people that you almost immediately think of when you think of “ultra successful”. The very fact that they’ve aligned themselves with <b>network marketing</b> is huge proof that this industry breeds success. </p>
<p>What’s more is that those of us who do succeed feel a deep inclination to share and extend the principals that we learn and find useful with those friends and partners that we’ve brought in to the business…as well as our fellow entrepreneurs. </p>
<p>The fact is that success isn’t a born instinct! Success…and the principals for success are learned… and can only be learned. Sure some might be more talented in one area or the other. Some of us can sell ice to Eskimos, others of us can write persuasive content, a lot of us are great motivators, and there are plenty of us whose only real skills are being social and having great networks. </p>
<p>Either way these are skills that can all be taught, learned, and even mastered.  It’s a never ending process but that’s the name of the game in<br />
<h2>network marketing.</h2>
<p>So How Do We Learn the Skills of Success?</p>
<p>There are many ways to learn and each of us learns best in a different way. I’m hyper visual, while some people I know learn by “hearing” how to do things. However, most of us in my opinion can and will eventually truly learn one way and one way only: BY DOING!</p>
<p>Theory pales in comparison to experience, even when the experience doesn’t go the way we would have liked for it to go. I believe it’s called the school of hard knocks isn’t it?</p>
<p>However there are ways that we can control the amount of knocks that we must endure. </p>
<p>1)	Coaching – One of the best ways in the world is through being coached and mentored. Let’s face the facts…if a guy with Michael Jordan’s talent, or Muhammad Ali’s talent, or any number great sports stars must be COACHED to greatness…then what makes you think that you can reach that level of success by yourself?</p>
<p>A coach not only can, but will help you reach down into your own soul and pull from resources that you never knew existed. They are the bird’s eye view of your success while you’re squinting your eyes – trying to see the forest through the trees. There’s no faster path to success than through the use of a great coach! </p>
<p>2)	Modeling of Other Successful People In and Away from Your Industry – One of the greatest things that we have at our disposal is other people who have gone before us. History is a great tool for learning success skills that we need to survive and even more importantly THRIVE. </p>
<p>There are many aspects to being a great and successful network marketer such as leadership, persuasion, charm, likeability, salesmanship, and countless others that will come along the way (hence the fact that it’s a never-ending journey) and there is no greater place to learn these skill from than those who have already mastered them in the past. </p>
<p>We are blessed with the choice to have the opportunity to model current successes in our field, as well as current and past successes in other fields and from the past. But we must choose wisely who we model ourselves after lest we may end up going down the wrong path. </p>
<p>3)	Falling Down and Getting Back Up Again – There probably isn’t any faster way for creating successful skills than falling on our faces, getting up, and correcting the missteps that lead us to tasting the dirt. Unfortunately many, if not most, fail to learn from our mistakes and we keep on making the same one’s over and over again, never growing from them.</p>
<p>Another group will never try because they’re afraid of failure. But there is no faster and more surefire way to fail than to never try. </p>

<p>Well if you are, I can almost guarantee you that I know what you’re #1 biggest problem is. How could I be so sure? Because after over 2 decades in this business, I’ve seen the same thing over and over again so many times it would make your head spin. </p>

<p> These are the people who are busy, busy, busy…doing nothing. Are you one of these people? </p>
<p>Here’s what happens… </p>
<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;</p>
<p>You’ve got 2 to 3 hours at night to run and build your business after work. So all day at work you’re sitting their thinking about how you can’t wait to get out of work, get to your home computer and start working on your business&#8230; so that next year at this time you won’t have to be sitting here like this&#8230;ticked off at the boss. </p>
<p>So you get home, kiss the spouse and the kids, pet the dog, grab a beverage and go sit at the computer. You’ve got 2 hours and you’re going to make it count right? </p>
<p>As soon as you sit down you log onto your computer. Once your computer loads up you check your email. Whoa wait I’ve got to answer this email from my old college buddy you say. Ooh someone responded to my ad on Craigslist for the dining room table we’re dying to get rid of. Darn it, they need a picture in another format. Ok I’ll just do this really quick&#8230;  </p>
<p>So before you know it 30 minutes down the drain…. Okay an hour and a half, let’s make this count. </p>
<p>You log out of the email, and log into the back office of your MLM opportunity. Gotta look at that downline tree again tonight even though I know I saw it last night&#8230; and I actually really didn’t do anything to sign anyone else up. But let me just take a quick look anyways in case&#8230;  </p>
<p>Nothing! Well makes sense because I haven’t even talked to anyone! Heck where are my sample packets even for when I do talk to people? Hmmm great idea let me find those&#8230;</p>
<p>Uh hem… Another 30 minutes down the tube because along with your sample packets you needed to find your business cards, and those brochures. They’re all nice and stacked up on the desk now. Perfect! Ready for action tomorrow with those babies! </p>
<p>1 hour left and then gotta hit the sack. Have a big meeting tomorrow morning. Let’s make it count! </p>
<p>So what to do?  Well I have those leads that I bought a month ago; they might still be looking for an opportunity. What should I say to them? Hmmm, I had a script here somewhere that I bought from Dough Firebaugh, let me find that!! Ok found it now let me just read through this and get it down pat!  Shoot only 40 minutes left to call people. </p>
<p>Which one of these people should I call? This sounds like a nice name. Wait it’s 9:20 where does she live? Oh wait she’s here on the East Coast too. Let me find someone from the West Coast. Great! Found one… Let me dial him up.  No answer! Ugh…it must be dinner time there right now. Never mind, tomorrow I’ll start with this so it’s early enough. </p>
<p>YAWN&#8230;. You know what it was a tough day…let me just check out the back-office again and then call it a night. I think “The Office” is on right now. </p>
<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;</p>
<p>So… sound familiar? 2 hours down the tube and quickly right? But you certainly were BUSY checking email, getting samples and marketing material ready to hand out, and calling that 1 lead. Whew! </p>
<p>Here’s the deal. You’re not doing anything what-so-ever to build your<br />

<p> Nothing that counts anyways! You’ve got no priorities and no schedule and that will cost you years and years of frustration if you don’t change. </p>
<p>Sure taking action is hugely important…but what’s more important is that you take the right type of action.  That means the type of ACTION that makes you money and gives you results. This means instead of finding your packets that you start off by handing them out. </p>
<p>Instead of checking the back-office… forget about it until you’re signing someone up back their.  And emails… if you’re emailing someone it better be your list of prospects about your opportunity! </p>
<p>What to Do As Soon as You’re Done Reading This…</p>
<p>You MUST get on the phone with your most successful upline member, and ask them what the most important activities are that you can do in your short amount of time of 2 hours a night (this actually is plenty of time to create a thriving business). Ask them to help you lay out a plan to get the most done in your available time. Once you have that plan follow it to a tee, and let absolutely NOTHING allow you to deviate from that plan.  I can almost guarantee you that you’ll start seeing results much sooner than later!</p>

<p>What can we do to avoid hostility? If the prospect indicates that they are not interested in a semi friendly tone, say thank you and move on. If they tend to ignore you, once more be nice and say thank you and move on. </p>
<p>Most of the time, the prospect will be friendly enough to indicate their displeasure. It is not our fault; their reasons can fill a book and then some. We need to respect their wishes, after the environment that we are in will play a factor. If we are cold selling out on the street, this type of behavior is generally increased but as long as you keep your energetic attitude and walk away without engaging in a verbal dispute, you will be fine.  There are plenty of other prospects to talk too, especially at conventions and hosted events. These people are open-minded towards what you can offer. </p>

We can offer different types of goals for individuals and teams to accomplish based on location or some other factor.  If you decide to use this route, you will need to make the reward justified for the particular goal. A $10 gift certificate at Starbucks should have lower requirement than a new car reward. Reasonable goals should be expected, be careful not to make the goal too easily or too difficult for your downline.</p>
<p>Before you shout out to your downline about a free trip to Olive Garden, sit down and carefully calculate the costs involved with the dinner and figure if it can be used as a tax write off. You can balance the cost with the possible write off with the slight increase requirements to cover the expense.  Most members will enjoy the challenge but may be bored if you are only giving out a $20 dollar gas card for sales over $500. Practical sense and a smart strategy are needed when developing a reward platform to help inspire your members. At times you may want to take out the weekly winner for a nice dinner or lunch; the particular goal could be most recruited, conversions or most inspiring member. </p>
<p>Besides the increased benefits to the business, some of your reward programs can be downright fun. It never hurts to reward a struggling member that has a great attitude to a day spa, amusement park tickets or a free oil change. Your reward system will need some time to adjust for trial, error and development as you reward your members. The whole downline should have the same ability to land a great reward.  Offering rewards in various degrees is a smart move to help increase membership and sales from the spectrum.  Group rewards may be a bit trickier to develop; a little research and input from your members will help you determine a suitable prize. A general list could be movie tickets, amusement park tickets, concert tickets, movie downloads, and music downloads, tech gifts and more.</p>
